The day war came

In 2016 the UK government refused to give sanctuary to 3,000 unaccompanied child refugees.
This poem by Nicola Davies was inspired by the true story of a refugee child who was refused at school because there was no chair for her tosit on.
It was first published by The Guardian and has become an unmissable picture book, out in UK stores today.
A lyric narration accompanied by powerful, realistic illustrations by Rebecca Cobb, ‘The day war came’ brilliantly illustrates the devastating effects that war and then isolation and rejection have on children.
This book is endorsed by Amnesty International as it supports the right to feeling safe and to an education for all children.

1£ for each copy sold will be donated to Help Refugees.
