A Tour of America's
Great Outdoors:
National Parks of the U.S.A

"National parks are the best idea we ever had. Absolutely American, absolutely democratic, they reflect us at our best rather than our worst." [Wallace Stegner]
America's first natural park was established in 1872 by the U.S. Congress. It's Yellowstone, located in Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. Native Americans lived in Yellowstone for over 10,000 years.
It was also the first natural park in the world.

Thanks to a few visionary artists and state leaders concerned about the destruction of the Indian civilisation and about the spread of human settlements, the number of the reserves increased towards the end of the Century.

Now there are 60 conservation sites in the United States, managed by the National Park Service, an agency of the United States federal government, protecting wilderness and absolutely unique ecosystems and landscapes.

Natural areas established by men to be protected from their own harmful, devastating behaviour.

This brand new book is written by journalist Kate Siber and Illustrated by Los Angeles based artist Chris Turnham, and it will most certainly engage children on the theme of conservation.
It is a beautiful edition packed with maps facts illustrated with vivid colour and modernist style.
This title will be released on the 5th July.
