Winter Sleep - A hibernation story

“There’s plenty of life tucked up, hiding in the cold.
I could feel the cosy magic of the night outside.
And even if it wasn’t very late, I closed my eyes for a Winter sleep”.
A lovely introduction to the concept of hibernation for young children (3-6) which also works as a bedtime story.
It’s the summer holidays: a boy goes to visit his Grandma and they explore together the woods around the house. It’s warm and life is everywhere.
When he goes back in Winter, everything has disappeard. But, has it?
The second part of the book is all about slowing down and reconnecting with the seasons, finally embracing a restorative deep sleep.
The backmatter features a list of animals and interesting info on how they snuggle up for Winter.
