The Marvellous Fluffy Squishy Itty Bitty

Alemagna's most iconic book is now out in paperback, published in English by Thames&Hudson.
Who doesn't remember Eddie's neon pink jacket touring the whole town trying to track down the perfect present for her mum? The Parisian atmosphere, the double-page spreads filled with mesmerising detail, the funny nonsense of the wording?
Like in her latest book Harold Snipperpot's Best Disaster Ever, in The Marvellous Fluffy Squishy Itty Bitty Alemagna explores the scope of children's imagination and encapsulates their heart-warming exuberance in an utterly enjoyable story.
Although Alemagna's books can't exactly be defined 'realistic', they are not entirely fictional either: No-one knows what a fluffy squishy itty bitty is of course: that neon pink creature (a sort of plush toy which is alive in Eddie's mind) embodies the countless opportunities that children see in regular objects, that can suddenly become very special to them.
Most children will play with stuff around the house in a creative way (if you allow them to) and will often come up with the weirdest, most adorable gifts for us.
The Fluffy Squishy Itty Bitty can in fact serve many functions, and it's just the perfect gift for Eddie's mum. She doesn't need any money to buy it, but some creativity and her friends' help.
